How would you solve the poor educational system?

One of the things I can recommend is that parents and other people in every community get involved with their local educational system by going to board meetings, volunteering for homework help, classroom assistance, fund raising efforts. Parents should always go to parents events, meetings with teachers, and PTA meetings. So often parents spend so much of their time earning a living, feeding and clothing their children and transporting them to extra curricular activities they are not necessarily in touch with the day to day education of their children or the education of the children in their community. More active participation with the educational system by the community will go a long way in avoiding problems, instead of waiting to participate when problems occur or budgets are cut.
