How do you change cap and rotor on 2003 chev 1500 4.3 liter?

Gently remove the spark plug wires marking each one so to put them back in the same order. Remove the two small screws holding the distributor cap down with the proper size "torx" head screw driver. Remove the distributor cap. Remove the two small screws holding the rotor in place using the proper size "torx" head screw driver. Remove the rotor. Install new parts in reverse order. Take note that the rotor only fits one way. Take care not to cross thread the distributor cap screws or you will crack the plastic distributor base.
