Can you get a handicap scooter on the airplane if its not that big?

Contact the airline about handicapped access. They may have spaces set aside for passengers in wheelchairs. Check to see if you are allowed to drive your scooter onto the plain versus using one of the airline's folding wheelchairs while checking the scooter as luggage. Aside from space issues, they need to balance your mobility needs with safety and security.
