What is the difference between automotive technicians?

Automotive technicians are almost like Doctors. Technicians vary in their expertise. You have general mechanics (Technicians) who will work in a shop and do many things, ie brakes, alignments, tune ups etc. You also have technicians who specialize in different areas such as transmissions, brakes, alignments, air conditioning, electrical, etc.......and ONLY work on these things in a specialized shop...... I specialize in automatic transmissions and have been for the past 23 years. Hope this helps....... transman
