Many say that the whole category of IQ testing is deeply flawed at best. The tests are biased toward western values and methods. IQ is a measurement of intellect, not information. so it has to at least be designed to adjust for age. We don't give the same test to a 12 year old as a 20 year old, and that is to adjust for the accumulation and rationalization of information.

There are brilliant tribesmen in the jungle, but they wouldn't score well on a western test, language, customs and application of knowledge is not universal.

Something as simple as test anxiety, low blood sugar or trouble focusing can skew the test results. Social bias does exist and certainly reading and comprehension is a huge advantage.

A high IQ does not equate to smart, wise or informed.
