What hormone secretion abnormality causes the following conditions diabetes?

Diabetes is primarily caused by abnormalities in insulin secretion. In Type 1 diabetes, the body fails to produce sufficient insulin due to autoimmune destruction of pancreatic beta cells. In Type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance develops, and the pancreas may not produce enough insulin to overcome this resistance.
