What can you do when your girlfriend puts her friends before you without sounding controlling or smothering?

Communication is everything in a relationship whether you are just going together or are married. You should feel comfortable to talk to her. Suggest that you do more things together on the weekend. During the week it's a good thing for both of you to have some head space. She can go out with her girlfriends and you can go out with your buddies. Often men in general don't suggest places to go and expect the women to figure out the social functions for the weekend. Take her out to a favorite night club dancing and have a few drinks. Go with another couple if you want. Another time you could go out for dinner and take in a movie. Perhaps plan a nice mini vacation if you can't afford to go on a more expensive vacation.
