How do centipedes hunt?

Centipedes are agile predators that hunt primarily at night. They use their speed and keen sense of smell to locate prey, which can include insects and small vertebrates. Once they find their target, centipedes strike quickly, using their venomous claws, called forcipules, to immobilize it. After subduing the prey, they use their powerful mandibles to consume it.
