Why is historical monuments destroying in industrial cities?

The process of destruction caused to Indian monuments has been continued since a very long time...maybe from the time they came into existence.

Let Britishers be the reason or else be it the Indians themselves,the need and way of conservation and protection lies among us. We people someday have to take fine initiative to protect them and then proudly continue this process rather then that of destruction.
