What is a fraction has a fraction in the numerator the denominator or both?

If you have something like '[a/b] / [c/d ] '

It means the 'a/b' is divided by 'c/d'

Remember the rule for division of fractions ; CHANGE THE SIGN TO MULTIPLY(X) AND INVERT (TURN OVER) THE DENOMINATING FRACTION. /Then proceed as multiplying fraction.

Hence

[a/b] X [ d/c ] =

ad/bc The answer. !!!!!

e.g.

2/3 divide 1/9

=>

2/3 X 9/1 =

2/1 X 3/1 = 6/1 = 6 THE ANSWER!!!!!
