What does the colors and symbols on the Cuban flag mean?

the blue stripes is three old divisions of the island and that the two white stripes represent the strength of the independent ideal. They also state that the red triangle symbolizes equality, fraternity, and freedom, as well as the blood shed in the island's struggle for independence.
