What kind of swords do bull fighters use?

The big sWord is called an Espada ( Spanish for sWord- not spade- which is a type of shovel in US usage!) they very often carry concealed switchblade knives as back-ups if their primary weapon is lost- also to boost audience appeal. I wonder how often the late Senorita Cintron had to use her little concealed cuchillo del Varilla ( lit Knife of switch) we call it a switchblade, in an emergency situation,if she lost her big sWord. Machetes are useful in jungle fighting ( often literally hacking off parts of trees, and foliage) but are not used in Bull fight.
