What do you do when your Plymouth Acclaim refuses to start after the gear shift was shoved into park and broke?

Check to make sure shift cable is adjusted properly. Also, check neutral start and back-up light switch located at the lower front edge of the transaxle. The center terminal of the switch grounds the starter solenoid circuit when the transaxle is in Park or Neutral allowing starter to engage.
