Where is hood release on 2006 Volvo s40?

The hood release for the 2006 Volvo S40 is located inside the vehicle on the driver's side. Look for a lever near the left side of the footwell, just above the brake pedal. Pulling this lever will release the hood latch, allowing you to open the hood. After releasing the latch, you may need to lift the hood slightly and then slide the safety catch to fully open it.
