The Nazi Party was a fascist party, led by Adolf Hitler, which was the main party in Germany from 1933 to 1945. The party is also known as the Third Reich. It triggered the start of WWII when it invaded Poland. 15 million people died, mostly Jews, but also homosexuals, gypsies and the disabled, whom were found inferior. The Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National Socialist German Workers Party or NSDAP) was the successor of the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (DAP) which was founded by Anton Drexler in 1919. The NSDAP was founded by Adolf Hitler, who was DAP member No. 55 (although he claimed he was No. 7 and officialy No. 555 to make the DAP seem larger) in 1920, and Hitler became chancellor of Germany in 1933, and later Fuhrer of Germany, which literally translates as leader, meaning he organized the Nazis and Nazi Germany until his death in 1945. For only the day after Hitler's death, Joseph Goebbels was Chancellor of Germany and leader of the NSDAP, until Goebbels committed suicide the day later, signalling the end of the NSDAP.
