How does cultural ethnicity define who a person is?

Cultural ethinicity has very little to do with who you are. It may shape your worldview slightly (if you live in a place where polygamy is abnormal, you are more likely to be opposed to it). But as a whole, you are your own person and ethinicity doesn't change that.
