What is a fowl that has a grotesque head and fatal breath whose tail is a snake?

Two similar mythical creatures, the cockatrice and the basilisk, have the head of a rooster and the body of a snake. Both creatures are said to be able to kill with their breath and turn people to stone with a glance.
