How much money does the royal family contribute to charity?

It is impossible to directly answer this question as many charities in England are directly under the auspices ( or sponsorship) of the Royal House- for example the Royal Red Cross, which uses the motto of Faith, Hope, and Charity! The RSPCA, which antedates the American SPCA is another one. Some are Quasi-government agencies- and some are private. So it is hard to tell exactly- in the United States , we have separation of Church and State and no direct tie-ins between Uncle Sam and big charities- except occasional indirect advertising on commemorative stamps ( for example, Salvation Army), By the way they are considered to be a Religious denomination- and the Royals cannot directly belong as they are C.O.E. - Episcopal.
