The 3 of sWords, when pulled, is usually viewed as an unwanted omen. It usually indicates some form of loss or separation from something, usually a loved one. This is also dependent on the other cards pulled for the rest of the spread.

For example, if Death is pulled then expect this loss to be substantial and hard-hitting. If Cups are present, this impact may be more emotional than anything. Wands indicate possibilities of this event affecting your self-esteem. Pentacles relate to your work life.

If this card appears, it is usually during a time of unhappiness or self-doubt, or when one has been having difficulty in making decisions.
