How high boing 747 can flight in the sky?

I'm not sure how high it "can" go if they wanted to, and if they were willing to burn all that extra fuel to get up as high as they can. But normally a 747 will fly at about 35,000 feet above sea level. It's about the same altitude as other large passenger jets and cargo planes.
