fly into from Chicago just because there's that many more flights so we flew into Boston just one hour north of Providence Rhode Island picked up our rental car and drove down the problem I want to mention that the first 5 days of this itinerary we actually had a rental car since we're going to be doing more city exploration we were going to be just constantly moving from place to place and not as much camping so that also meant we were an Airbnb is the first couple nights so after we got a rental car we drove down to Providence Rhode Island which. So I guess it is a one hour drive roughly depending on traffic and we checked into our Airbnb and decided let's go explore all of Providence's downtown for the rest of the night the good news about Providence Rhode Island is it's a very walkable city there's a lot of pedestrian paths and there's a lot of things to see it's a big college towns we walked from Brown University and then checked out a really good taco spot that was recommended by our Airbnb host and it was delicious it was fast so we can get back to walking around the city so that evening we would walk roughly 3 or 4 miles around the city and got to know some of the areas some of the different districts just to get a better idea of what we wanted to do for the rest of the weekend since this was going to be our first weekend on the road trip and secondly the road trip we explore more of Providence Rhode Island where we went downtown checked out the capitol building we checked out some of the local national park areas downtown as well as checked out more of the food scene because Providence has really good food in their downtown so it was great to just walk around get to know the city probably walk maybe 7 or 8 miles before finishing up our day and I must mention that you want to catch a sunset in Providence the way the city lights up in the evening is really a magical experience as you can see from this flipped it literally looks like it's straight out of a movie the city really lights up with golden colors and the distance to find yourself a great spot to enjoy a meal in the evening and then walk around right by the river where you can see a nice Sunday number 3 of the road trip we make our way down to Newport Rhode Island it's roughly a 50 minute drive to get over to Newport Rhode Island it's a really short drive as you know Rhode Island is a small state so you can get from place to place quite easily so the first thing we did in Newport Rhode Island was we did probably the most famous thing which is cruise down the 10 mile drive wrote it's a road where you can see mansions right along the coast you can stop by the beach and you can also go to fort Adams state park and explore one of the old works there so there's really a lot you can do along that route and considered a pretty efficient out of time so
