King Josiah of Judah was killed at the Battle of Megiddo in 609 BCE. He confronted Pharaoh Necho II of Egypt, who was on his way to assist the Assyrians. Despite his efforts to protect Judah, Josiah was mortally wounded in the battle, and his death marked a significant turning point in the history of Judah. His demise led to the eventual decline of the kingdom and increased foreign influence.
