What oil type for a 1997 Mercedes c180?

Use Oil that meets 229.5 specifications, my preference is Mobil 1 0W-40 European Car Formula fully synthetic. There is also castrol syntec 0w30 aka german castrol. mobil1 0w40 can be found at almost any autoparts store or Walmart, whereas castrol syntec 0w30 can be found at autozone. (courtesy of mbworld.org)
