What are the characteristics of a Lawyer?

Lawyers perform a great service to us all. They understand the inner workings of the law and - in best scenariOS - protect the masses and uphold the law. As a group, they tend to be pessimists. Nearly 1/3 of all lawyers suffer from depression. They are twice as likely to develop problems with substance abuse and have the highest suicide rate of any profession. A good lawyer is either born with combative verbal skills, or they learn those skills in law school. Most good lawyers are able to retain large amounts of detailed information and think on their toes in difficult situations.
