How did railroads affect Arkansas in the early 1900?

With the expansion of railroads in Arkansas, many small towns experienced new life and growth.The arrival of a train was often a community event, and people gathered at the station just to watch the people and cargo load and unload.

Improved opportunities to transport Arkansas products to markets outside of the state led to the spread of cotton farming, strawberry and Apple production, mining, and the harvesting of Arkansas trees.
