How did people in the past cook food?

People in the past (men) used to hunt and kill their animals with stone tipped spears. Then, cut them open and season them with herb from their fields (women). The men would then go to the woods and get branches of tree. When they came back they would strike a fire with some stones (friction). The fire would then be started and they would put the animal over the fire to roast..!!!
