Plato's feelings about music and its use in society?

Regarding ancient Greece, Plato believed that music encouraged the corruption of society. His reasoning was that bawdy, immoral works of music led to immoral, inappropriate Words and actions. He felt that people acquired a sassy, impertinent, brazen attitude because they thought it's okay to write any kind of music they wanted, instead of formal, sensible, traditional music.
