You leave it the hell alone. The PT1911 has all the custom features out of the box. If you want a carbine that shoots .22 buy a .22 Ruger 10/22 carbine.
If you attach a shoulder stock to a pistol, removeable or fixed, you have created a "short barreled rifle" unless the permanently attached barrel is at least 16" long and the overall length is at least 26". An unlicensed short barreled rifle is an infraction of the Gun Control Act of 1968 and is a federal crime worth at least 10 years.
Since you are willing to convert the caliber to .22, why not just purchase a .22 rifle such as an AR-7 and avoid the legal complications? And your an idiot for trying to ask that. what a dumb question!
