though i am not a filipino but i studied in Philippines and i think i can contribute to the question.you might have seen different answers to the question but i want to tell you that the question may be framed. 1. what are the theories regarding the origin of Philippines? 2. what are the theories regarding the origin of filipino? let me ask,are these two questions the same?

Let me start from the first question,if you are talking about the origin of Philippines, you are talking about;

1. legend - the story about the bird,sky and the sea

a. part of a lost continent -''lemuria and ''Mu''

b. volcanic origin - this theory explained that Philippines was born due to eruption of sea volcanoes.the theory was opposed by Dr. Bailey willis

c. land Bridge theory - it explained that Philippines was once a landmass bridging china and Asia mainland to Indonesia, new guinea and Australia.

Talking about the second question now,the origin of Filipinos,we talk about;
