Convert in scientific notation 0.005

Shift 2 decimal places from the starting point to the right, and we write out:

5.0 x 10-2.

If you move decimal 2 places to the right it would become .5 which is much higher than .005.

The actual method is to move decimal 3 spaces to the right, the equation then becomes 5.0 x 10-3.
