According to multiple commentaries on the book of Acts, Luke is the author of that book. In The People's New Testament, a commentary on the New Testament of The Bible, "the preface [of Acts] shows that it was written by the same author as the third Gospel, which has been ascribed by the church in all ages to Luke, and in the first canon of the New Testament Scriptures he is named as the author"
