Who is the author of the cemetery path?

There might not be an answer to this question. While some maintain that Leonard Q. Ross is the author of the story/passage "The Cemetery Path," one can assert with certainty only that in 1994 one Leonard Q. Ross posted online an English class lesson on this story. However, copies of the little tale date back at least to 1978 if not earlier, making its authorship a mystery.
