The form of monarchial government adopted by the Spaniards in the Philippines was both Absolute and Limited (Constitutional) monarchy.
Absolute Monarchy- since Philippines was a colony of Spain, the primary authority resides from the Royal family in Spain.
Limited Monarchy- the highest authority rulling the Philippines was the Governor General (Gobernador Heneral) and by virtue of the union the church and state, Friars (Prayle)has the same power as of the Gov. General.
Good luck!
