What is the social contract and why is it important?

The social contact is a theory or model, originating during the age of enlightenment, that typically addresses the question of orgin of society and the legitimacy of the authority of state over individuals. The socil contract is important because it provided influential radical arguments and more important exrtraordinarily powerful images and phases which were widely cited during the French Revolution.
