Why is Saint Andrew so important?

Andrew was a born leader Even before the crucifixion he was bringing people to Our Lord, including his own brother Simon Peter. He preached the Gospel in Asia Minor and Greece, and possibly areas in modern Russia and Poland. He was crucified on an X-shaped cross and is said to have continued to preach for two days before he finally died.
