Does Stephenie Meyer think shes all that because she wrote Twilight a really popular book?

In my personal opinion, I do. This is from her reaction to her book, Midnight Sun, being leaked. She made quite a large error by handing the incomplete novel around to her friends and family and as a result, millions of her fans now have to suffer. I know of many books by famous authors which have been leaked, and out of all of them, Stephenie Meyer is the only one who has put a book on hold indefinitely. It shows a lack of professionalism as many authors would either continue writing regardless of the leak, or attempt to quicken the pace in which the book is written, and may even rewrite what they have already written.

I personally think that Meyer believed that because she had achieved a level of popularity, she believed that she was untouchable. That she would be free to write and share her novel without any chance of it being leaked. So when it was leaked, it was a massive shock to her as it showed that she was no more special than the countless other authors which have had their books leaked.

Also with the way she negatively stated how she would kill off the main characters due to her present frame of mind after the leak, and how she quickly recanted the statement and blamed the perceived seriousness of the situation on the amount of "lawyer talk" present. Also with the way she said that she didn't want to hear the books name for at least two years, but still decided to release the incomplete novel on her official website, ensuring that it will be under much discussion for quite a long time.

I know that she has made several statements about the fairness to her fans. But personally I think that if she truly was fair to her fans, she would return to Midnight Sun and continue to complete it. It also stands to reason to question why Meyer feels she can write another book in the Twilight Saga, The Second Short Life of Bree Tanner, given her state of mind, when she cannot find it within herself to continue writing the very book millions of her fans are dying to see completed.
