How much does a pharmaceutical copywriter make?

Freelance? 45-100/hr. I work in a pharma company, onsite as a copywriter consultant in a big Northeast city and make 72/hr. 100 is rare.

Permanent placement? Depends on the level. A sr. copywriter with 5-7 years experience or more makes about 75-95K.

I have to disagree with the previous answer. I've worked and still work in pharma advertising, on the ad agency side in the northeast.

Starting salary as Junior Copywriter/Copywriter: $37-55k depending on the quality of your portfolio.

If you're good, within 2 years you can be Senior Copywriter and pull down $70-95k.

Within 3-4 years you can be Copy Supervisor and make well over 6 figures.

Group Copy Supervsiors (about 6+ years of exp) can pull down upwards of $165k.
