I had an open lung biopsy 12/21/10. For the first 2 weeks you are very limited on what you can do. It does start to get a little bit easier after that. I am 41 and have been told age matters. I went back to work a month later. I was sore and very tired for a long time. You will learn what you can and can't do, listen to your body! If it hurts slow down but don't stop doing it because it does hurt keep going. The best advise I can give you is to start slow and work your way up. DO NOT sit on your butt and do nothing you need to move or it will not get better. What I found the most helpful...get a very comfy recliner your gonna need it, alot of pillows, a side table and stuff to entertain you. Mostly you will need good friends and family members to help you, you will need help with EVERYTHING! I couldn't sleep in a bed for a month and I had to work into that too, start propped up and work your way down to a flat position (this is where the recliner came in handy). Pillows are needed to prop you, a small very firm one is important to "hold" against your side to help you move around. Entertainment is key, cause if you are like me I was very bored and the mad cause I couldn't do anything or move by myself. Read, do puzzles, get a lap top, watch TV, whatever your into. Good Luck to you! I hope this helped. Just remember it does get easier, it just takes a long time.
