If you are a Christian, its important to preach because you are a follower of Christ and he set the perfect example in preaching. During his time on earth, his main objective was to teach others about God's Kingdom.
(Mark 1:38) But he said to them: "Let us go somewhere else, into the village towns nearby, that I may preach there also, for it is for this purpose I have gone out.
(Luke 4:43) 43 But he said to them: "Also to other cities I must declare the good news of the kingdom of God, because for this I was sent forth."
(Luke 8:1) Shortly afterwards he went journeying from city to city and from village to village, preaching and declaring the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him.
Jesus also stressed the importance of preaching to this followers.
(Luke 9:1-2) Then he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to cure sicknesses. 2 And so he sent them forth to preach the kingdom of God and to heal...
(Matthew 24:14) 14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
(Mark 13:10) Also, in all the nations the good news has to be preached first.
