No. Occasionally humans get bitten by octopuses when they handle them, but unprovoked attacks are almost unheard of. Octopuses are very shy.

There are common stories from divers in the Pacific Northwest who have been "hugged" by Giant Pacific Octopuses. They come to no harm, but you are not going to go anywhere until the octopus decided the hug is over!
