I take Abilify and Adderall.....they seem to work good together. I suffer from both bipolar and ADD

Yes i suffer from Bipolar disorder and adhd as well and I take both adderall and abilify. Abilify is a partial agonist of the d2 dopamine receptor subtype which basically means when there is too little dopamine it'll trigger the receptor itself but if there is too much it'll block the dopamine from over stimulating that specific receptor. Adderall works by increasing the amount of dopamine in the brain but the dopamine receptor most tied to adhd is the d4 receptor which abilify has only minimal affinity for. You should talk to your psychiatrist further and you might want to use a drug interaction checker like the one at drugdigest.com
