What to say if someone calls you a retard?

There is no need to respond to it at all. Personally, I would look the person dead in the eye until they looked away. Doing this, the likeliest response from the person would be (has been) to ask, "What are you looking at?" My response, with a bit of a look of distaste, would be (and has been) "Absolutely nothing."
