What is the bird of sorrow?

The Korotangi (bird of sorrow) is a Tāongaor sacred artifact discovered in New_Zealand. It is a carving of a bird made in sepentine stone. Some Māori of Tainuiallegiance believe that it was brought to the country from Hawaikiin their ancestral Waka.
