What are the main types of radiation?

There are several main types of radiation. In order from lowest freqeuency, and so lowest energy, to highest, they are:

• Radio waves
• Microwaves
• Infra-red radiation
• Visible light
• Ultraviolet light
• X-rays
• Gamma rays
