That depends.

Are you talking about how technology has assisted in making hunting and gathering more effective, or are you talking about how the advent of technology has made hunting and gathering a lost art?

If it's the former, then it has increased the efficiency of both hunting and gathering. In the short term, this is good. We can hunt more, gather more and therefore feed more people. In the long term, however, if the food isn't rationed, then we hit a food shortage. If one person can only hunt or gather X amount, then they will only eat X amount. If a person can hunt or gather 3X amount, then they will eat 3X amount and the food supply will dwindle at a much faster rate. This can also lead to extinction of entire species if left unchecked.

If you're referring to the latter, then technology has made us less reliant on the traditional hunting and gathering methods. Since we can acquire a significant amount of food with little work, most people don't even do it themselves anymore, save for people who hunt for sport or grow their own gardens. If you take an average person and put them in the forest with nothing but the clothes on their back, their chance for survival is minimal. In this light, technology has made us spoiled. Not to say technology is a horrible thing, but in the context of hunting and gathering, it has definitely put us out of whack with nature.
