Where is the tool kit on a Honda vtx 1800?

The OEM stock tool kit and owner's manual are located in the same place for the Honda VTX 1300 and the VTX 1800 models. The kit is found on the left side of the bike in the large non-chromed compartment. The compartment is located just behind the ignition switch, directly below the seat and just in front of the rear shock. To open the compartment pull the right side toward you and then lever the left side toward you and forward. Watch carefully as it comes out because putting it back in is a bit trickier. You have to make sure you get the tabs on the left side located in the grooves exactly for it to shut and stay secure.
