Does NORAD really track santa

One reason that NORAD tracks Santa Claus on his journey on Christmas Eve is due to an advertisement in 1955 misprinting a phone number with the intention of calling Santa Claus but the phone number that was given out was actually to CONAD which was NORAD's predecessor. The second reason is because NORAD is the organization that is responsible for detecting attacks that are against North America as well as for defending the attacks.
