What important historical world events happened before 1950?

The Great Depression, World War 1, World War 2, Columbus discovered America (1492, WAY back), the Civil War (more American than World), LOTS of other wars. I don't really know anymore but that will get you started. (Try inventions, too)

The invention of penicillin, the internal combustion engine, the telephone, the harnessing of electricity, the dilution of the power of the church over western society. the beginning of the dismantling of the colonial system used by Europe to loot other country's of the world dismantling of the the list goes on forever.
