-5x plus 24 equals x

-5x + 24 = x so -5x + 6x = x; 6x = 24; x = 24/6; x = 4;

If you are trying to figure out what X is then this may help

-5x+24=X you can try to add like terms now, but remember when you move the five to the othe side of the = it changes from negative to positive, so now you have 24= X +5x which turns into 24=6x then to get X alone on that side you will divide by the number beside it(6) on both sides so 24 divided by 6 = x6 divided by six and the answer will be 4=X so X is 4.
