What happened to Bluestars dad?

Bluestar's father, Stormtail, died in a gap during Bluestar's Prophecy. After Bluestar is made leader, she mentions Stormtail along with other cats who died when the clan ran out of prey. Stormtail most likely died along with these cats during leaf-bare.
